Canadian Shipping Policy

HyLine Water Systems – Canada Shipping Policy
Last Updated: December 2025
HyLine Water Systems ships water ionizer machines and accessories throughout Canada. This page explains exactly what Canadian customers should expect regarding shipping, taxes, brokerage fees, delivery timelines, and warranty shipments.
We believe in full transparency so there are no surprises at delivery.

1. Order Processing
  • All Canadian orders are processed and shipped within 3 business days.
  • Shipping rates to Canada are displayed at checkout.

2. Carrier Methods
Shipments to Canada typically use:
  • UPS Ground
  • FedEx Ground
  • USPS/Canada Post (for smaller items)
HyLine selects the most reliable option for your region.

3. Duties, Taxes, and Brokerage Fees (Paid by the Customer)
Canadian customers are responsible for all import charges collected by the carrier upon delivery. These fees do not go to HyLine.
A. Taxes (GST / HST / PST)
Canada requires taxes to be paid on imported goods. Rates vary by province:
  • Alberta: 5% GST
  • British Columbia: 12% (GST + PST)
  • Ontario: 13% HST
  • Quebec: ~14.975% (GST + QST)
  • Atlantic Provinces: 15% HST
Taxes apply to the machine price plus shipping.

B. Brokerage Fees
Carriers charge a brokerage fee to process the shipment through customs.
Estimated brokerage fees: $40–$70 USD
This fee is paid to UPS/FedEx at delivery and is standard for all U.S.-to-Canada shipments.

C. Import Duties
U.S.-made water appliances typically enter Canada duty-free, but this depends on product classification and regulations at the time of import.
HyLine provides accurate customs documentation to minimize or eliminate duty costs.

4. Delivery Times
Estimated shipping timelines:
  • Western Canada: 6-9 business days
  • Central Canada: 5-8 business days
  • Eastern Canada & Atlantic: 6-11 business days
Delays may occur due to customs processing or weather conditions.

6. Delivery Refusal
If a shipment is refused due to taxes or brokerage fees:
  • The carrier will return the package to HyLine
  • The customer is responsible for return shipping costs and any carrier fees
  • These costs will be deducted from any refund issued
Please review this policy carefully before ordering.

7. Warranty Shipping for Canadian Customers
Warranty coverage for Canadian customers is the same as for U.S. customers, with adjusted shipping responsibilities:
Customer → HyLine (Inbound Warranty Shipping)
  • Customer pays shipping to our U.S. service center
  • RMA number required before sending any product
HyLine → Customer (Return Shipping After Repair)
  • HyLine pays shipping back to Canada
  • Shipment is declared as “Warranty Repair Return – No Commercial Value”
This declaration prevents duties, GST/HST/PST, or taxes from being applied on warranty return shipments.
A small carrier processing fee (usually $5–$15) may occasionally apply, depending on the carrier.
